This includes understanding the high costs of modern veterinary treatments, surgery and prescriptions, and the financial burden these costs create when you need to provide the very best care for your dog.

The AKC Pet Healthcare Plan offers:

The choice of using any veterinarian licensed in the United States (or Canada, if you are visiting)
Four different plans to suit your needs:
- The Essential Plan provides excellent level one coverage, with lower premiums, lower co-insurance and per incident
- The Essential Plus Plan offers superior coverage limits, with a single annual deductible
- The Wellness Plan includes all of the Essential Plus benefits, plus preventive care, such as check-ups, dental cleanings, vaccination and booster shots, parasite control, and de-worming
- The Wellness Plus Plan offers the same benefits as the Wellness Plan and includes additional coverage for spay and neuter procedures
Direct reimbursement to you the customer for the cost of covered treatments, less the plan deductible and co-insurance
Coverage extends for the life of the pet, providing continued renewals
All four plans cover medically necessary services including veterinary treatment and surgical procedures, prescription medications, diagnostic and laboratory tests such has X-rays, CT scans and MRI's, cancer diagnosis and treatment, and hospitalization

The choice of monthly or annual premium payments
